Forward Day by Day: February, March, April 2024

Inspiring readers since our first issue was published in 1935, Forward Day by Day remains a significant resource for daily prayer and Bible study to more than a half million readers worldwide.

 

Forward Day by Day is a booklet of daily inspirational meditations reflecting on a specific Bible passage, chosen from the daily lectionary readings as listed in the Revised Common Lectionary or the Daily Office from the Episcopal Church's Book of Common Prayer.

 

The meditations are rich in substance and offer a wide range of witness and experiences. Each month’s meditation is written by a different author, providing fresh and diverse messages to readers on a regular basis.

 

Forward Day by Day is published quarterly: February/March/April; May/June/July; August/September/October; and November/December/January. 

 

 

ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Julia Ayala Harris serves as the president of the House of Deputies, the first Latina and woman of color elected to the position. She is passionate about issues of immigration, race and ethnicity, truth-telling, LGBTQ+ inclusion, and justice initiatives. She and her husband, John Harris, live with their daughter in Norman, Oklahoma.

Troy Mendez serves as dean of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, a historic and vibrant downtown Phoenix congregation. He is also active on the boards of trustees at Virginia Theological Seminary and The General Theological Seminary. He is passionate about the church offering to all people a sense of belonging and the grace of new life given to us in Jesus Christ.

Lyn Fraser is a teacher, retired hospice/palliative care chaplain, and avid recreational walker. A lifelong Episcopalian, Lyn attends St. Matthew’s in Grand Junction, Colorado, where she has facilitated classes on the psalms, the parables, civil discourse, and aging with grace.
