Mapping Earth is part of the Smithsonian Science Stories Literacy Series. Mapping Earth features short stories that pair with the module, What Can Maps Tell Us about Land and Water on Earth? Both are aligned to grade 2 standards. In Mapping Earth, students will read about patterns of land and water and how people make and use maps to represent and understand those patterns. 


Mapping Earth includes the following features: 

• Stories that focus on mapping land and water on Earth and even beyond it 

• Stories that highlight STEM careers
