MAYGEE
A puppy is born, but is of mixed breed, so her future may be bleak. It is the will of the gods that the little girl finds a nice family to adopt her. The fates are further meddling in that a newborn baby in that family, Nancy, becomes in tune with the mental projections of the puppy. They become inseparable and as the two grow older can communicate over long distances: it is called meuning. Their dad, David, is a cop and both parents are computer literate. Dave and Susan recognize the strong bond between their kids. The puppy, Maygee, is treated like another child. Nancy and Maygee are also sensually connected: if one feels pain, the other likewise hurts. They also can sense badness in a person and prove it in identifying a child kidnapper. David likes to tinker and decides to build a toy for the kids. It is called a POOTER and developed with an oversized keyboard, one that Magee's large dog paws can actuate. The 'toy' develops into a serious learning tool that both kids become proficient in using. Susan becomes pregnant and has twins. Years elapse and the parents decide to have another child, but are warned off by both Nancy and Maygee, who have a strong feeling of disaster. After a checkup, it is confirmed that Susan can not risk another pregnancy. Time for the local fair and Nancy and Maygee organize a fortune telling booth. Towards the end of the day, they are approached by a bad guy who attempts to kidnap Nancy. Maygee finds David and the villain is apprehended just in the nick of time. Later our heroes suggest that David and Susan adopt a baby. The parents agree and after several visits to Social Services, discover a little girl, Annete by name. It turns out that Annete also has the psychic abilities attributed to Maygee and Nancy. The team is now up to three. As time passes, Annete, the brightest of the three, suggests that there might be others with the power. A search is organized and another being with powerful psychic abilities is discovered. And it is not a person, but another dog, named Sonny. He joins out troops and the score is now four. Months later, it is discovered that Sonny's mental blasts, when joined by the other three, can eliminate corrupt Web Pages, and the four begin doing exactly that. David finally catches them at it and worries that it could become lethal for the family if discovered, so the POOTER is confiscated. In one final adventure, Maygee's friend Regie, a miniature Schnauzer, and his owner get into trouble and are rescued by our heroes. Eventually calling themselves the Fourmeijibles, further adventures will be expounded upon in the next of the series.
