Mmmmm - You'll always wonder!

Quirky, imaginative stories which will make you think. What's fact, what's fiction? A real ghost town named 'Happy Go Lucky'; famous jewellery thieves; the laughable, unbelievable case of a stolen Picasso; the day Reg died - ironically; the pen is mightier than the sword; a young man’s first attempt at smuggling; stories of hope, love, revenge, ambition; and finishing with a story which asks the biggest question of all - Is it possible?

Stories created in the spirit of Roald Dahl, Mmmmm is an eclectic collection of unexpected tales.

On his first day of an unwanted retirement, and the last day of his life, tailor Reg meets a superbly groomed young man. To Reg's horror the young man sits next to a workman, forcing the pure clean wool of his suit to socialise with common fabric.

Melbourne’s most well-known high end pickpocket is barred from racetracks during the lucrative spring racing carnival. In desperation he and his inexperienced accomplices plan their first jewellery heist. Reid's life is about to change.

Leigh has finally summoned the courage to instigate the break up. Supported by her brother Brett, Leigh chooses an easy to discard cafe to have that talk. In disbelief both of her parents call Leigh just as Sam walks in.

The wife of an ex-racing car champion dreams of the life which was promised her. Her reality though is grief for her father, a party full of 'new' friends and a husband who touches his beautiful, young biographer’s dolphins too often. Tonight it's her turn to win.

They told him to yawn to appear bored. They told him to stay calm and act natural. But nothing could prepare the young man as he approached Customs as a first time smuggler.

During the Great Depression a desperate man has a job interview with the man who stole his brilliant, history changing product idea.

The whole town gathers to hear the death wish of a rich, lonely woman. The friendliest town in history, Happy Go Lucky, is history.

Within ten minutes of the first time he injected himself with the mixed snake venom, he vomited violently as his brain told his body that it was under attack. Within twenty minutes, he begged his uncle to take him to hospital but of course that was out of the question. They both had to see this through for the sake of his career.
In 1986 Picasso’s Weeping Woman was stolen from the National Gallery of Victoria - the greatest art heist in Australian history. Incredibly the daylight robbery went unnoticed for two days as the culprits replaced the painting with a place card “Removed for Cleaning and Restoration”. The identity of the culprits has been a mystery ever since, until now.

Professor Selwyn’s lifelong work finally culminates in the discovery of her generation. Tragically it’s seven months too late for her dead husband, the other Professor Selwyn. Just as tragic, the world will never hear of the discovery.

The story which asks the biggest question of all – Is It Possible? And the answer is yes.
