Mortals Pray

The novel starts with a man finding and appropriating a belt that turns out to be a sort of survival suit with some unusual qualities. Once he puts it on, he is forced to learn how to live within a strange “second skin” and avoid those who would take it from him. The plot takes him on a convoluted journey to avoid those who feel they have the right to the suit and refuses to stop searching until they find the thief.
