Descripción editorial

Out of the Pit is not for the faint-hearted but an honest look at the depths of despair and the struggle to cope with it. Barbara Blair has captured in very real terms the broken and dysfunctional side of some families in America. She has brought to attention the dark places that can be hidden behind closed doors.

The best part of this book is not the despair of her life but the power of God to raise one from the pit to solid ground. You will be intrigued by the reality of both sides of this story. She doesn’t leave one hanging with sympathy but gives hope that they too can overcome, no matter the history. This book will encourage someone who has hit bottom to begin looking up. They too can live with a sense of destiny in front of them.

Kerry Kirkwood

Senior Pastor, Trinity Fellowship Church, Tyler, TX

A rare, first-hand account of the depths of mental illness, a young woman’s experiences in the dark pit and how the Truth finally woke her up and brought her out into freedom and wholeness – physically, mentally and spiritually.

Barbara Huber Blair is a mother, a worshiper, an accountant by day and a writer by night. She grew up in a blue-collar town outside of Pittsburgh, PA and moved across the country with her family in 1978. After being freed from years of pain and depression, she found her way to a little house in East Texas where she’s putting down roots and pursuing “the better half” of her life with her church family. She loves to talk openly about mental illness and bring the misconceptions out into the Light where there is healing and freedom.
