Dr. Jere Phillips has incorporated thirty years as pastor and over sixteen years of teaching young pastors to provide a biblically based, future-focused approach. This book was written for young pastors but can help ministers of any generation, especially new pastors.


About the Author


Dr. Jere Phillips understands pastors, having served as a pastor and staff member for over thirty years. In addition, he has taught young ministers at Trinity College of Florida and at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary. Dr. Phillips also worked with church planters while serving as State Missions Director for the Tennessee Baptist Convention and Executive Director of the West Virginia Convention of Southern Baptists. He and his wife, Glenda, have two married daughters and seven grandchildren. He received his PhD from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He also has authored The Missionary Family: Managing Stress Effectively and has published over two hundred articles and Sunday school lessons for LifeWay Christian Resources and other publications.
