Poems by a Country Boy

The people who will read these poems will be hard working people who don't have time to protest every wrong doing in America and the world. 

In an attempt to put my feelings and opinions into words I may offend some people, if so, I apologize. Some may disagree with my thoughts and feelings but many will agree. 

In trying to capture simpler times and better morals, I put thoughts into words. Many of the poems have been in my thoughts for years. In 2011, at the age of 68, I began writing them on paper and filing them away. In 2013, I decided to publish them. Each poem either tells a story or a feeling that has happened in my life. 

Melvin Rasmussen has strong ties to the land and farm life. He has tried to reflect this way of life in many of his poems. He's had the privilege of growing up in simpler times and realizes times have changed. He sometimes wonders if many of these changes are for the better.
