Descripción editorial
This collection of sixteen duets contains rounds (or canons), chorales, and other melodic songs. These are primarily of moderate difficulty, with some of that difficulty being the independence which the two players must navigate. There is a variety of key and time signatures, and playing three to six at a time would make a nice set for a concert or recital.
A round, like the song “Frere Jacques,” is where one part starts and then a second (or sometimes even a third or fourth) follows at a designated time. In this collection, the second part begins when the first gets to the asterisk (*). The first part will play until the end, and the second part will play until reaching the fermata (or “hold”) that is situated above the staff. The duets that are not rounds have two distinct parts, with one person following the upper stemmed notes and the second person the lower stemmed ones.
