Skin Doll

Descripción editorial

Skin Doll, an artist's eBook, is interactive literary fiction inspired by a Sanskrit fable about a princess who loses her favorite doll (which looks and is dressed exactly like herself), then matures during the adventures she has while trying to find it. In this story, the "princess" is a 23-year-old girl in contemporary Los Angeles, and her doll is an even closer facsimile, magically making itself out of the layer of skin the girl sheds during a nervous breakdown.

Designed by the author with iBooks Author, this book is an investigation of form, using hyperlinks and interactive widgets as narrative elements essential to the storytelling.

This project is the product of a faculty development grant awarded the author by Art Center College of Design in September of 2013.
