Baba Hari Dass wrote the summaries of the eighteen chapters of the Bhagavad Gita to make the essence of the Gita accessible for all spiritual seekers and students. Babaji was completely versed in the Gita from several vantage points: cultural, lifelong personal study, and the discipline of a mauni sadhu (silent monk) in the Vairagi Vaishnaiva sect. It was from this complete and nuanced understanding that he wrote his full commentaries on the Gita, published in three volumes.
