West of Havana

Jake Pepper could never have guessed that when he salvaged and repaired an old wrecked wooden sailboat, it would be the beginning of the adventure of his life. Jake and thee friends follow an old Cuban Expatriate's map to Castro's Cuba. Chased by the Drug Cartel, Cuban gunboats and military, the young crew sneak into a hidden Cuban cove to begin their quest. Strong emotional feelings develope between Jake and Maya, a beautiful Cuban-American girl, who accompanied the voyage as interpreter. Apprehended by the Cuban authorities they must make an escape,find the buried treasure and return safely.
Before the surprise ending the odyssey leads these adventurers through kidnappings, a hurricane at sea, and stranding on a deserted island paradise in the beautiful Bahamas. Thoughout the story an emotional struggle between Jake and Maya devolopes. Jake matures as a man and makes choices that form life long lessons in both love and courage.
