i was born less than i

knowing in this life

we were promised a goodbye

like everyday the sun

is promised a goodnight 

i’m worried of the ways

they will try to dull your lights

wounds will turn to scars

as we store the hurt inside 

things that glittered gold

couldn’t make this one feel whole

had to separate myself from the stories

that they told
