Being publicly rejected by her mate isn't the worst thing that has happened to Sutton Ellis.
Fate brought her and Jagger together when he saved her from a sadistic witch then guarded her until she recovered—but the gruff, stern hellhound insisted he didn't care what the fates wanted and left her for Hell.
However, when a member of her coven goes missing and Sutton's fierce determination to find her friend lands her in life-or-death trouble, Jagger returns. And this time the sinfully sexy beast intends to be her giant, growly shadow.
Sutton can't resist Jagger, or his determination to win her back. But her coven's safety must come first. She'll do whatever it takes to protect them...even if it means giving up her only chance at love...
Klantrecensies
Sadly not as good as Bad Demon, but still ok
The second in the Hellhound Heat series i found in my library sadly didn’t deserve the 4🌟 Bad Demon got,but is stuck on 3,5.
Reason being that i didn’t think Sutton got the attention she deserved, nor did Jagger grovel enough after what he put her through.
Yes,he had good reasons for rejecting her that were explained later on.
What happened in his past, losing one child at birth and having a “damaged” one that needed constant care ,hurt him immensely.
But he could have done it in a way that wouldn’t have crushed,or humiliated, her as much as it did.
And no,he didn’t need to be in touch with his emotions for that….it would’ve been the decent thing to do,no matter what.
He could’ve taken the time to explain his reasons, for starters, but instead he was only focussed on himself, and not what it did to Sutton.
So,i stand by Sutton for giving him the hard time she did.
And it’s not that her life had been smooth sailing either….
Her family rejected her because she was the result of a fling her mother had with a demon.
They didn’t reject her mother,no they threw her out instead.
And after a life of struggling to survive, when she finally had a newfound family, she was tortured by the same arsehole Fern had been.
Knowing Jagger was her mate made her hope for more….until he publicly humiliated her by denying it.
Still,Sutton cared enough about those close to her to attempt to help them.
Still, she did everything she could to get,and keep, them out of trouble.
Until she couldn’t do it alone anymore, and needed help.
Since she couldn’t turn to the mate that rejected her,she needed to turn to one of Lucifer’s men,Rune.
Only to have Jagger turn up,mad that she didn’t go to him??
WTF dude?
And even after that,he still took his bloody time to get his head out of his arse to admit she was indeed his mate!
His apology was a sorry affair, and she forgave him way too quick for my taste.
Especially knowing that her family still treated her like dirt, and it continued to hurt her…..
Luckily, she got the help of the other Hellhounds, and more of Lucifer’s men to solve the danger that threatened not only the people she loved, but humanity and Hell as well.
Jagger got the mate he didn’t think he’d have, and Sutton got her friends to safety.
And yes,she got her mate, the one she still loved in spite of everything he’d done.
But their happy after didn’t give me the same feelings i had after Bad Demon.
Will i still read Bad Blood? I need to think about that one….
