Being for the Benefit of... Beatles Art in Liverpool

No other city in the world is as synonymous with The Beatles as Liverpool; and no other city can lay claim to being home to so many public artworks and art objects connected with and inspired by the band. This book is the first to be dedicated to the story of these artworks (temporary and permanent) and forms a kind of visitors’ guide to what amounts to being a citywide art exhibition. This exhibition is a work in progress, ever-changing, ever transforming, and it continues to grow year upon on year. Spanning the artistic produce of over half a century; the artwork on display touches upon all aspects of The Beatles’ collective careers (as a group and as solo musicians) and comprises pieces produced by members of the band themselves, as well as a number of close associates, celebrities, and internationally renowned artists thus underlining their impact as global icons and as a cultural force.
