You, Sung-Suk | Blooming Fragrance 

The theme of her work is light, fragrance and blooming. She wishes for it to be an allegory of the process of a life coming to a bloom as a result of the light source, emitting the fullness of its fragrance, as a flower of life blooms with no end in sight.



She is a romanticist who wants to run away from the reality and dreams of happiness and fantasy. Art can change the dark world into a bright one. Her work pursues eternal utopia that can only be created by a true romanticist, who is governed by the theory of optimist’s.



유성숙 | 향기로 피어나다

빛, 향기, 피어남이라는 작품의 테마는 빛으로 향기 되어 피어나는 생명에 대한 사랑의 알레고리이길 원한다. 끝없이 확장되어 피어나는 생명의 꽃. 유성숙의 형상들 속에는 그만의 조형언어로 빚어내는 생명의 환희가 있다. 또한 환하게 빛을 발하는 아름다운 꽃들의 어울림은 아이들의 왁자지껄하면서도 티없는 웃음과 유사하다. 


그의 꽃그림에는 공간의 의미를 우주로 확장하면서 구원과 생명의 의미까지도 자연스례 담겨져 있다. 자세히 살펴보면 무리진 꽃들 속에 숨바꼭질하듯 새들과 어린이들과 마을과 자동차가 있어 그의 회화가 우리네 생활을 담아내고 있음을 알 수 있다. 얼핏보면 화사한 그림이고, 찬찬히 보면 한없이 깊은 의미들이 담겨 있어 평화와 함께 숙연한 그 무엇까지 느끼게 해 준다.
