A misfiring prop leads Amy and Ambrose into a complicated case.
When Amy and Ambrose are called to a suspicious death at a theatre, they find themselves having to deal with a series of strange connections between the killer and their victim, and everything points to their main suspect being innocent even if he struck the killing blow.
The more they uncover about the case, the more complicated it becomes, and it's soon evident that there's more to the case than first meets the eye.
Can they find the mastermind before it's too late?

Another intriguing murder mystery
It's been a while since I read a Laura Greenwood book. I think I read a few too many lately and need a short break. However, once more Greenwood gives us an amazing case, although I have to admit that this case felt a little predictable. The moment the murderer was introduced I kinda knew. Maybe that's also because this is already the twelfth book in the series and by now I know the author and her storytelling quite well. However, that doesn't mean it wasn't well done. I love how she keeps on coming up with new magical murder cases and how realistic solving the cases always feel. There is so much eye for detail! And sprinkled in between all the detectiving are some nice romantic moments and conversations.
