Dare to Know Annuary

Dare to Know is a website published by David Morton Rintoul offering feature stories aimed at those who find meaning in understanding our universe, our place in nature and our humanity.”


That’s me.





To mark Dare to Know’s first year in business, I’ve pulled together an annuary. That’s a yearbook that lays out the cornerstone stories that did the best job of telling my story to date. I plan to put out a new edition of this book every summer.


I wrote a note to myself on May 16, 2019. It said, “Blog that addresses human rights, ecology and cosmology. The three pillars based on world’s creeds.” We all have ideas that pop into our heads that we end up forgetting about or neglecting. For some reason, though, this one stuck with me.





I’ve simplified and broadened the “pillars” into Universe, Nature and Humanity. I called the blog


Dare to Know. That name comes from an old Roman poet named Horace, although most people pick it up from Emmanuel Kant’s work.





I latched onto that motto during all the rummaging around I was doing. It meant that I was trying to find out the truth, whether I liked it or not.





I hope you find something worthwhile in these pages. Maybe sharing these thoughts will do us both some good.
