Custom has it that outgoing editors of Global Governance bid readers farewell with a swan song piece in the final issue produced under their tenure. Such is our moment at the end of Volume 15. This closure presents an occasion to reflect on where the past four years have taken Global Governance and what issues press for future attention. We came into editorial office in July 2005 with Global Governance well established as one of the most respected academic journals in the field of global studies. In our opening statement to readers (see vol. 12, no. 1) we declared an intention to build upon that record in order that the journal would make still more notable contributions to policy-relevant knowledge about the governance of pressing global problems. Four years later, what has been done toward that objective?
