This is a fairytale and coloring book. It is written in rhymes and it is very easy to read. The target audience varies from two to twelve years old. It is suited for boosting the creativity of children but also as a good way to encourage them to become curious and learn English. It is also the perfect bedtime story. The majority of the pages in the book are line art meant for coloring with any tool. The covers and the last three pages are fully colored. The transition from the uncolored to the colored pages gains happens gradualy by means of shadows and grey areas. The last page features the charaters in dashed lined borders so that the kids can cut them out and play with them as figurines.

The story revolves around Rosalinda who has no friends and has some difficulty adapting to the grey and lonely world around her. She finds a magical pen and the world around her starts turning into a colorful one.

The title comes from a play on words. Flipping a tale has two meanings:

1. Scrolling through a fairytale

2. The dragon flipping its tail.

This is the first printed edition of “Flipping a Tale” by Raluca Porumbacu released in May 2017. It is also the artist’s debut book.
