Furniture Masterpieces of Duncan Phyfe

The Metropolitan Museum of Art presents a technical, yet very readable, deconstruction of Duncan Phyfe's masterpieces. Documenting his 60-year career, this collection of photographs and analyses follows his Neoclassical origins to the point that his designs became something of their own. History may not remember Phyfe as the creator of any new school, but the manner in which he did business, his popularity throughout the country, and his adherence to traditional properties have made his name what it is today.
