[ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] Harrison Bryan's attitude to life, and to the library profession, is best epitomised by a photograph of him in his office at the Fisher Library with his shirtsleeves roiled up. Harry had the ability to mix socially and intellectually with all comers and could put on the Ritz when the occasion demanded. His natural proclivity, however, was unassuming practicality. Harry had an eagerness to get on with the business of the day and could be impatient with those who stood in his way.
