It is a great guide for leadership of the time and provides a neat source for jeopardy like questions and answers. It can be a lot of fun. It gets into detail and is a composite view of a person that was alive closer to the time and despite the limited resources of the time for documentaries, does a great job in presenting valuable information.

You can have tons of intellectual fun with the book and it should be a must read if for no other reason to learn in a detailed manner about the region, its development and events that were seen through fresh eyes. There have been many discoveries and revelations since the original printing of the book, but for the foundations of the regional studies the book is appropriate. A great add to any bookcase and a must read for students of history and society.
