Implementation Or Bust!: Join the AASL Standards Wagon Train (Feature Article) (American Association of School Librarians‪)‬

IN ORDER FOR TEACHER-LIBRARIANS TO REMAIN AN INTEGRAL PART OF THEIR SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT, IT IS IMPORTANT TO STAY ABREAST OF WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THEIR PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION--THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOL LIBRARIANS (AASL). The association works on a defacto ten year cycle to develop new standards that will fit with current expectations for a student's education. The process involves the valiant effort of AASL members who work hard to be not only relevant but pioneering in their passion for student learning. In this transition year, a time of economic downturn that has affected every industry, it is everyone's responsibility to embark on this journey or improving learning and improving our relevance to student learning.
