Improvisational Intelligence: Learning How to Think as an Improviser

This book is a resource for high school music teachers. The pedagogical objective of this book is to empower leaners to develop three essential improvisation skills: decision-making; anticipation; and structural thinking. Through 36 practical exercises learners are guided to nurture and develop these skills. 


The book features over 50 musical examples and 40 video clips that demonstrate how to apply the exercises and how to implement them in a class setting. The book also features 8 links to downloadable backing tracks for learners to practice along, or to provide the role of rhythm section when necessary.
