Naked Body

“Body” in English is the same expression, whether you’re referring to the body of a car or the body of the woman. In the 1980s, the United States was a car society, with 95% of all households owning a car.  At the same time, crime in the country was reaching a peak.  A car was stolen in New York City at a rate of one every five minutes.  In 1980 alone,  the number amounted to 100,900.  Stolen cars overflowed everywhere, and, to some, the image of the purloined, often mangled vehicle was viewed as erotic, not unlike a nude female body. 


英語で Body (ボディ)は自動車の車体でも女性の体でも同じ表現である。

アメリカは1980年代にはすでに車社会で、全所帯の95%が車を所有していた。その頃、この国の犯罪はピークに達していて、ニューヨーク市内では5分に一台の割合で車が盗難されていた。その数は1980年に10万900件に登っていた。そこら中に盗難車が溢れ、まるでネッケド(裸)にされた女体のごとくエロテックに写って見えた。
