Custom Controls, a business consumer, then filed a separate suit against Computer Results, the retailer/distributor of a Qantel computer system. Custom Controls also sued Mohawk Data Services Corp. and Qantel Corp., the alleged manufacturers of the Qantel computer system. Custom Controls alleged the defendants had committed breach of warranty and engaged in false, misleading and deceptive practices or representations under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices - Consumer Protection Act in connection with the sale of the Qantel computer system.
