Shadow of Doubt

In Espionage, Trust Is Everything. Secrets Are Another Story.

Spring, 1950

Just when Jenny Nicolay and Sawyer Finn finally admit their feelings for each other, the CIA decides to separate them. Sawyer gets a desk job in Dallas. Jenny gets a dangerous new assignment, a mysterious diamond to recover, and a team she wouldn't trust to organize a church picnic.

Her mission? Track down the legendary Cuban Blue Diamond before it falls into enemy hands. Why everyone from Soviet operatives to British Intelligence is chasing an oversized gemstone is anybody's guess. But the CIA wants it, which means Jenny has to find it.

First stop: Canada, where Jenny goes undercover as a lady's maid in the mansion of a Nazi sympathizer. Her backup includes a competitive long-lost sister and a former Texas Ranger whose idea of blending in leaves something to be desired. Jenny is beginning to miss the days when Sawyer was the only person she had to argue with.

Meanwhile, Sawyer discovers that a desk job doesn't necessarily keep a spy out of trouble. As Jenny follows the diamond's trail, his own investigation draws him into a dangerous web of secrets. And the closer they get to the truth, the clearer it becomes that the Cuban Blue Diamond is anything but an ordinary jewel.

With enemies closing in and their investigations converging, can Jenny and Sawyer uncover the diamond's secret before it falls into the wrong hands?
