Sound Ideas for the Classroom

This book is a companion volume to the earlier ’59 ideas for the Digital Camera in the Classroom’, which is also available from the iTunes store.  Both books start with a number of ideas for using audio in the classroom, cross referenced to the ISTE standards.

The purpose  here is to provide teachers at all stages with some ideas on how to use audio in the classroom, and some guidance on how to achieve better quality recorded sound in the classroom.

A moment’s thought brings the realization that digital audio represents a huge opportunity to involve students, and these days, that applies from kindergarten upwards.  The student benefits are tangible, ranging from the mastering of technological processes, to discussion, teamwork, the exercise of judgment, and even some basic design and build skills..

This book is intended to open the eyes of teachers to the possibilities of digital audio in their work, and especially to the potential for student involvement.
