Case study: How Emirates Transport is ensuring security and safety in its services as a public transport provider
The protection of beneficiaries and stakeholders’ health and safety is considered a topmost priority at Emirates Transport due to the nature of its business as a public transport provider, especially regarding school transport services for students in public schools.
Abstract
By the end of 2014, Emirates Transport had a fleet of over 17,000 vehicles, in addition to a network of 41 locations all over the UAE. Emirates Transport strives, in cooperation with its strategic partners, to achieve high levels of safety and security in its services, particularly in school transport services – Emirates Transport transports more than 200 thousand children to school on a daily basis. After measuring and setting targets, Emirates Transport took action to enhance children’s safety in school transport, ensure senior management engagement, organize events and activities in different health and safety areas, offer programs and courses on safety issues, encourage creativity and innovation in traffic safety methods through the Traffic & Education Award, foster employee participation, promote Emirates Transport’s safety culture through periodical and non-periodical publications and, also, maintain the highest level of safety through inspection visits by senior management and safety teams.
