Ascendants are dying and the barriers between worlds are failing.

Dante must confront an assassin known as the Harbinger—a killer who can't die. The Harbinger exists to destroy the barriers keeping The Dark One imprisoned and recapture Maelstrom, the sentient weapon of evil created by his master and wielded by Dante.

When Dante realizes that the Ascendants, a group of gifted warriors, are the key to maintaining the barriers intact, he must find a way to keep them alive…before the Harbinger finds them, ends their lives, and unleashes his master, The Dark One.
