Within minutes of opening The Dom's Dungeon, I was swept away and when I finally closed the last page, it was with a satisfied smile on my face. ~ Love Romances
Foster child. Teenage whore. Now a veterinarian, MacKensie turned her life around, but scars remain. She saves her affection for the animals who never judge or scorn her, but it's time to move on from her past in Iowa. So, she arranges a vacation exchange to job hunt in Seattle.
Although the house is lovely, one room is locked. Foster care left her with two 'gifts': a neurosis about locked doors and the ability to open them. Once inside the room, she's appalled…and intrigued. Chains and manacles, whips and paddles, odd benches with straps…
When Alex returns home days early and finds MacKensie trying out the spanking bench in his locked dungeon, he's furious. But her wariness arouses his protective nature, so he strikes a deal to keep her close—she'll act as his submissive in exchange for a place to stay and help finding a job.
He'd planned to use the veterinarian to deter an ex-girlfriend, not replace her, but with MacKensie's compelling mixture of strength and vulnerability, the little submissive slides right into his well-defended heart.
Note: Full-length, sizzling-hot novel with no cliff hanger and no cheating. A protective, dominant hero. A vulnerable, intelligent heroine with a traumatic past. One sigh-worthy romance (and adorable pets).

Beautiful story with all the feels
It’s been a long time since i read The Dom’s Dungeon, but with Master Drake’s story,The Living Edge coming,i decided this was a good excuse to re-read it.
It still is the wonderful story i read back then,it still makes me feel all the feels, and it shows how good the story is.
The characters are likeable, the storyline engaging, and i’m left with a happy after that doesn’t leave any unanswered questions.
MacKensie needs a new start, because even though she got a second chance at life and became a vet, people in her hometown still see the teen that was forced to do things that still haunt her….
And they judge her for it…without knowing the how or why.
Seattle sounds like a good place, and swapping house with a dog owner who needs a sitter for a few weeks,is the perfect way to find out if she can find a job.
The house is beautiful, and Butler the dog is a sweetie.
But why is that one door locked??
Mac is allergic to locked doors because of childhood trauma, and needs to know why.
Finding out Butler’s owner is kinky is a surprise,an intriguing one…but since he’s not home, she can indulge and try out the furniture she found….right?
Alex needed to get away from Seattle for a few weeks,he was growing tired of Cynthia’s persistent nagging to make her his sub.
For heaven’s sake,he only played with her a couple of times, and wasn’t even in the market for a relationship!!
Witnessing, and preventing a mugging at the airport stopped him from catching his plane though, and since the next flight would be a lot later,he decided to return home.
Only to find the person he thought was a good sitter for Butler from the background check he’d done was in his dungeon!
The dungeon he’d left locked,as instructed,to make sure it would be left alone.
His first instinct was punishment, his second to alert the company that arranged the house swap.
But his third….that made him give into the first, and forget about the second.
Because there was something about Mac….something that he needed to know what it was.
And he had the perfect excuse to convince her to stay….he needed a sub to show Cynthia he was taken.
It took time, and patience, but Alex got Mac to trust him.
He gave her what she needed, and only took what she wanted to give.
Sure,he pushed her boundaries, but within reason.
And the more he saw of her,the more he liked her.
In return,Mac was convinced,at first, that he was like all the other men she’d met, with a few exceptions.
But he didn’t force her into anything she didn’t want,at all!
In fact, the more she got to know him,the more she started to trust him to treat her right.
They were getting closer, and things were looking good.
But when the matter of Cynthia was dealt with, after she did something unforgiveable,Mac knew Alex would end things.
Because he didn’t do relationships…..
Plus, she’d seen someone from her past, someone that didn’t plan to allow her a bright future.
Surely,Alex and his friends and family would turn their backs on her in loathing….right??
