The SWORD Book of Treasures

This is really a "book of treasures." We believe that you will find here some of the choicest gems of Christian literature ever printed. They are a collection of articles, sermons and stories that were first printed in The Sword of the Lord, the evangelistic weekly of which I am editor. They are selected from the material print in nearly six hundred issues of this Christian magazine, and are by writers famous and little-known, living and dead.

The fact tremendously impressed me, as I scanned afresh the bade copies of The Sword of the Lord, that nearly all the full-length articles and sermons appear in books later and have a wide sale. Ibis indicates that the quality is of unusually high class. Some of the fine material which has appeared in the Sword of the Lord is already published in books that are available to the public and they are not reprinted here. Surprisingly, some of the very cream of literature which we have printed is not available in cloth-bound books readily available to the public and these messages are published here. Either the books in which they were published are now out of print, or they were put in paper-bound pamphlets, not easily kept in libraries.

But the popularity of every chapter in this book is amazing. For example, "Safety, Certainty and Enjoyment," by the English evangelist, George Cutting, has been printed in millions of copies, and only Heaven will reveal the comfort and assurance it has given to hundreds of thousands of people. "Pearls of Paradise” has been widely spread in many tens of thousands of copies, and the same can be said of many of the other chapters. Some of these have been published in many, many forms. We are delighted that now they can be collected into a great Book of Treasures, available for every home and library.

This is a family book. The growing child and the aged saint alike will find delight and wisdom and refreshing in these pages. It will be read over and over again. We can think of almost nothing that will make as delightful a gift as this book. And the best thing about it is that every chapter is true to the Bible, truly exalting to the Lord Jesus Christ, and every page, we trust, will help people to love and serve the dear Son of God who died to save us from our sins, who rose again, ascended on high, and who ever lives to make intercession for us, according to the will of God.
