Here at Chi Alpha at UVA, we have long believed that words matter. How we speak to one another, and the words we choose shape us and those around us.  That is why we have chosen twenty-four axioms for our community. We hope you take these phrases to heart, and repeat often! Ephesians 4:29 says, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” We chose axioms that we think are wise, timeless, and helpful for building each other up. They remind us what is of value, how to treat others, where to strive for more, and who we really are. This devotional will take you through a different axiom daily. Each section starts with Scripture to show us God’s truth within the saying, continues to a meditation on it, and closes with reflective questions to help you process integrating the axiom into your life.
