Zen from Another Planet

Reading Al Ferber poems, one has to be ready for a trip of chutes and

ladders because hes nothing if not energetic.

Youll find yourself running after the train and waving your ticket, only to

find its already left the station, hellbound and whooping.

Al waits for no one to catch up: its hang on and enjoy the ride. Als like

jazz. He gets your foot tapping and you begin to want more and more riffs,

more floor to dance, more grins to grin.

And you cant read just one.

You let his poetry claim you.

You slip on the back of the horse,

and let the sucker fly
