Publisher Description
Random House presents the audiobook edition of Killing Floor by Lee Child, read by Jeff Harding.
Killing Floor is the first book in the internationally popular Jack Reacher series. It presents Reacher for the first time, as the tough ex-military cop of no fixed abode: a righter of wrongs, the perfect action hero.
Jack Reacher jumps off a bus and walks fourteen miles down a country road into Margrave, Georgia. An arbitrary decision he's about to regret.
Reacher is the only stranger in town on the day they have had their first homicide in thirty years. The cops arrest Reacher and the police chief turns eyewitness to place him at the scene. As nasty secrets leak out, and the body count mounts, one thing is for sure.
They picked the wrong guy to take the fall.

Good story, lousy reading
While the book itself is good, Jeff Harding (reader) manages to destroy it by reading every single sentence with a sneer of defiance. Every sentence in the exact same tone throughout the entire book is exhausting to listen through.
I’ve heard clips of the other JR-books read by Harding, and they’re exactly the same, making me wonder if I can endure the series at all.
The reading!
I was looking forwards to this book, but I had to stop listening after 20minutes. The reader (Jeff Harding) does not let me get into the story due to his awful reading. He speaks every sentence in a monotonous voice and there is no variation in his intonation. This makes every sentence sound the same - he killed it for me! I was so annoyed I had to stop listening. Waste of time and waste of money.
I heard the book is good tho …
