James Edmund McWilliams, Jr., was convicted by a Tuscaloosa County jury of three counts of capital murder and was sentenced to death. The Court of Criminal Appeals affirmed the conviction and sentence. See McWilliams v. State, [Ms. 6 Div. 190, August 23, 1991] So.2d (Ala. Crim. App. 1991).
