Battle of Wits was the winner of the October 2012 Raspberry and Vine Short Story Competition in Melbourne Australia. A police detective must solve the violent death of an elderly single man, focussing on the man's neighbours. Detective Eric Bryson thought he had seen it all, every type of victim and all manner of perpetrator. Then he met Christine Banks - beautiful, intelligent, and his only lead in this baffling case.
