EDUCATION IN A DISTRESSED SOCIETY

I found it imperative to write and provoke us to reflection. To reflect on the present and interrogate the future; of our education and by natural extension, of our society. I have set out to provoke us with the fact that we have contributed to producing and sustaining patronage of an education that is both replete with, and has also engendered and sustained conflict and contradictions contributing to the distress in our society. I write to provoke us to the consciousness that this education is not good enough, in philosophy and practice it is bad education! Hence it is not adequate to prime learners at any level to becoming responsible in society and to society; and to be readied for a future that is profitable to self and to society.
