There are so many reasons to love Victorian novelist Thomas Hardy's Far from the Madding Crowd, including the fact that it’s being made into a movie starring Carey Mulligan. We enjoyed being swept away by the drama and tumultuous passions that pass between the charismatic, headstrong Bathsheba and her variously suitable suitors.
