Graphs in Pictures is the fifth book in the Maths in Pictures series, following the style of the previous books. Covering Cartesian co-ordinates in the four quadrants. Travel and conversion graphs. Mappings and graphs of straight lines. The gradient of a straight line, the general equation y = mx + c, and families of straight lines. Speeds measured from distance-time graphs, and acceleration and distance travelled from speed-time graphs. Drawing quadratic, cubic, reciprocal and exponential curves. Gradients of curves and the area under a curve leading to the Trapezium Rule, and including examples of distance-time and speed-time graphs. Review questions come at the end of a section.
