Haptic Communication

The primary focus of this book is to explain and describe basic techniques in Haptic Communication. People who are deaf-blind and blind, as well as their family members, friends, interpreters and other providers will benefit from the book.

 

The authors have collected and organized material on Haptic Communication so that “providers” and “receivers” can benefit from a system with a common platform. The book is user-friendly and provides an overview of what Haptic Communication is and what it is used for as well as provides a detailed description of each signal including meaning, context, hand-shape and associated movement.
