Hit the Ball, Joe‪!‬

Fifth-grader Joe Snyder has a dream of one day playing baseball for the Minnesota Twins. His immediate goal, however, is to become a member of the Apple Valley Bears, along with his two friends, Mario Benoit and Lynn Rodriguez. The Apple Valley Bears are trying to become the tenth team in the Minnesota Regional Baseball League.

The book traces Joe’s efforts to become a member of the team, the team’s efforts to become the final team in the Minnesota Regional Baseball League, and the baseball season that follows. Tanner describes each game the Bears play, leading to the conference tournament at the end of the summer. Meanwhile, Joe’s parents have a great surprise for Joe.
