Levi and the Fifth Bead (Levi and His Magic Pants, #3‪)‬

Levi learns that Sally's abilties to walk through walls comes from a wooden bead that she wears on her necklace.  The bead is just one of five beads that come from a magical family necklace.  Sally's mother and grandmother and aunt have three of the other beads.  Now, a clue as to the location of the fifth bead takes Levi, Sally, and Brian's mom on a journey to the Irish countryside.


This book is a great "first chapter book."  It is comparable in difficulty to the "Magic Tree House" books or the Thornton W. Burgess forest adventure books.


The most successful use pattern has been for parents to first read it aloud to new readers and then allow the new readers to read it to themselves as they grow in confidence.
