Posterolateral Corner Reconstruction
Publisher Description
Posterolateral Corner Reconstruction is a new interactive technique guide, that will review the latest technique in PCL reconstructions. This technique describes the approach for reconstructing the posterolateral corner of the knee using a suspensory fixation modification of the LaPrade technique. The "posterolateral corner" (PLC) is a term applied to the complex set of anatomic structures in the knee that stabilize the knee to varus, external rotation, and anterior/posterior translation, and hyperextension. In practice, posterolateral corner reconstructions must maintain and/or restore function. Clinically, posterolateral corner repair and augmentation is not particularly challenging, provided the surgeon is familiar with normal anatomy and follows an organized and rational approach. This is a comprehensive technique on the reconstruction of the PLC, which has been demonstrated to restore more normal knee kinematics, using instruments and implants from the Smith & Nephew knee repair portfolio.
