Redesigning the Multi-Generational Park

Parks and recreational spaces are vital to the individuals and communities they serve because they function as loci for play, leisure, and both human and environmental interaction, serving people of all backgrounds. Parks and recreational spaces are metaphoric canvases for the watercolor of human social life, grounding the overlapping and blending of human-to-human and human-to-environmental relationships. Unfortunately, many marginalized neighborhoods have no such space to call their own, thus remaining disenfranchised, neglected, and isolated. In an attempt to redefine the design process for park development, this book raises issues that commonly remain silent while proposing a new method of approach that synthesizes observations, reflections, and dreams of a brighter tomorrow.
