A search for her roots brought midwife Fiona Flanagan to Pennsylvania Dutch country–and made her wonder whether she should turn back.

A lifetime spent in rural Pennsylvania and her own Pennsylvania Dutch roots led Marta to the books she writes now about the Amish.
