In wild lands of The Holdings, crime is the only thing that is really organized. Coursa, Queen of Rogues has a hand in everything. When some of her servants come upon a valuable book, they must employ the services of a crippled scribe named Joff. Now Coursa, strongest and most independent of women will come to rely on Joff, the meekest of men.

Weak as he is, Joff will prove himself adaptable and tough. Coursa will show just how wise and clever a peasant can be. Together they will reshape the lands in which they live.
