Jordan continues his Wheel of Time saga (after The Eye of the World and The Great Hunt ). Three thousand years ago the Dragon led the male mages of the world into entrapping the Dark One, but the cost was high: all male mages, then and thereafter, were driven mad. Now the Dark One is breaking free, and the only salvation may come through Rand al'Thor who may be a reincarnation of the Dragon and who must obtain the sword Callandor, held in the city of Tear. All of Rand's companions from the previous books find themselves, willing or not, moving toward Tear for a confrontation with evil traps. Jordan's fast and absorbing adventure novel will keep the reader too entranced to worry about plot inconsistencies, numerous coincidences, lack of character development and Rand's inexplicably infrequent appearances. As light fantasy, however, it proves an enjoyable diversion.

Fantasy på sitt beste
Omtalen gjelder de fem første bøkene i serien, som alle er blant de aller beste fantasy-bøker jeg har lest. Utrolig bra skrevet - fortsatt det beste jeg har lest. Etter min mening langt langt bedre enn ringenes herre: game of thrones er i samme liga etter min mening. Har ikke lest ferdig noen av seriene fordi de ikke var skrevet ferdig. Wheel of time tapte seg etterhvert, men har hørt de siste bøkene igjen er bra.
Uansett anbefales denne serien på det sterkeste: du har mye å glede deg til :)
the book remains vital for character development
'The Dragon Reborn,' doesn't offer significant plot developments, and the narrative progression is relatively slow and lacking in action.
Nonetheless, I think the book remains vital for character development and laying the foundation for future events in "The Wheel of Time" series. While it may not deliver major plot twists, it contributes to the overall depth and complexity of the narrative.
The authenticity and liveliness of the dialogues greatly enhance the book's appeal, crafting genuine relationships among the characters. Notably, the dynamic between Egwene and Nynaeve, showcasing the contrast between Egwene's innocence and Nynaeve's fiery temperament, adds depth and complexity to the characters. A strength lies in the reduced focus on the central character, Rand al'Thor, allowing secondary characters to shine. Perrin's journey remains a highlight. While the plot may lack spectacular events, it excels in character development and authentic dialogue. I definitely want to read the next book!
