Sydneysiders Briar, Harriet, and Zara met on a bereavement forum and soon took their mutual gallows humour offline. When they're not chatting in person, they're catching up on their private WhatsApp group chat. It's a safe space for them to vent.

Or, it was. Until Alex.

A lonely acquaintance of Briar's husband, Alex was originally invited to join the girls for one drink, but before they know it, she's been officially added to the group. Harriet and Zara are immediately won over, but Briar senses something is off about Alex. Her stories about her past keep changing. And as they spend more time together, Briar wonders if Alex is more than a little obsessed with her . . .

When the friends go on a weekend break, the rural idyll is quickly shattered when a body is found metres from the holiday home.
